Michi Kaifu, CEO

Michi has over seventeen years of international business development and consulting experience in the wireless and telecommunications industries. Having lived, been educated and worked in telecom in both the U.S. and Japan, she is a unique and effective bridge between the two countries.

Michi got her wireless experience at Nextwave Telecom, the C-Block PCS carrier. As Director of Business Development, she successfully obtained numerous bulk sales contracts, developed partners relationships with major carriers and managed a pricing planning group.

Michi started her telecom career at NTT America in New York. There she formed and led a sales and product development group that later became the core of the Arcster brand at NTT Communications. Michi also played a key role in NTT's early international activities when she directed NTT's investment program in the America's including a cellular carrier investment in Brazil.

Earlier in her professional career, Michi worked in Tokyo in international sales and marketing at Honda Motor Company, and as a consultant at Bain & Co.

Michi holds the MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business, and BA from Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, Japan.

Chako Ando, Partner

Chako Ando has over 10 years of investment banking and capital markets experience. Ms. Ando was a VP in the M&A department of Daiwa America; manager of a venture capital investment fund for the Industrial Bank of Japan; and a VP of credit control with Sumitomo Bank Capital Markets. At both Daiwa and Sumitomo, she advised and analyzed companies in a wide variety of industries, including IT, health services, food, consumer goods, manufacturing, materials, and financial services. Ms. Ando has also been a CFO of an online trading system provider and a consultant for numerous Silicon Valley firms. She is a CFA Level III candidate and has passed the Series 65 investment advisor exam. A Tokyo native, Ms. Ando obtained her MBA at Stanford with a concentration in finance.
